With as much air as these Rs require, having a clean filter is crucial to ensuring maximum power delivery and efficiency. S&B is known for their clear view filter lids that make it is easy to keep an eye on the filter condition. The sealed airbox and larger intake scoop eliminate the bends of the factory inlet and provide the filter with the most clean and cool air possible. In off-road conditions and spirited driving, the engine bay can get much much hotter than the inside of the sealed airbox.
You can remove the S&B clear lid to enjoy even more super charger whine as well as easily access the filter for cleaning. Additionally you can remove the side cover and ingest more engine bay air for max airflow.
Dry filter Option- if you live in a dusty environment and off-road regularly, the dry filters are easier to maintain as they can quickly be serviced with a vacuum at the car wash or removed and blown out with compressed air. No dry time necessary. They will eventually need to be replaced after 20-35k miles depending on use.
